I have a d16y8 motor that came off of a 96 civic.the motor threw a rod or two i believe. i havent opened it up to check but when i was in it sounded like it. i dont think it scratched the sleeves or anything major becuase the comp. was good. the motor idle good exept that nosie from that rod.
