I've heard that Tein S-Tech's barely lower the car at all, and I've heard of some people cutting them slightly to increase the drop? Anyone done this? Would this be a dumb move?
It would be a dumb move because the spring is designed to travel so far and suport so much weight. By cutting off part of it your lowering its tolerance for weight and therefore making it unsafe.
Well thats my understanding of the matter sue me if im not 100% correct. IF you must get some coil overs to do the job.

dont cut the springs, it will eventually ruin all your suspension components. If u dont like the height buy something that is to your liking. Or get coilovers. Then u can go any height u want
