i have a 97 jdm itr motor and im using the jdm p73 ecu. anyways this is what happened. i was racing and when i put it in 4th the motor just lost power, like i couldnt accelerate anymore, if anything it felt like the motor just shut down. it happened to me 3x's already. it runs really well when im not racing. could it be the ecu? or is it something else? thanks.
oh my set up is stock itr motor, test pipe, and rsr exmag exhaust.

 

Are you throwing any codes. The ECU could be retarding timing on you if your throwing an engine code.

 

How fast were you going? jdm ecu's have speed limiters

 

i wasnt throwing any codes...
and i dont exactly know how fast i was going cause when i put it in 3rd gear at about 8400 rpm the speedometer stalled from 100km for a second then jumped to 140km.

 

The speed limiter is at 200km an hour or 120mph. Thats what it sounds like is happening. Stop racing. =P
