Experienced Air Conditioning Help please... did my searching
Ok... I did a little searching tonight on my a/c. I bought the car 2 weeks ago, a/c was the r12 stuff, I asked about the a/c before I bought it and he said he'd extract the r12 and put r34 in it... well when I picked it up since I bought it already, it wasn't blowing cold real great. Well I put one little can of r34 in it and it blew cooler than got warmer... well I bought another can but with one of those little gauges on it... when it was off it was showing like 150psi and a/c on, it went to about 65-70psi... well the gauges say 45 is the max you wanna go... I also noticed at this time of checking it the compressor would kick on and off... which I figured out in my searching it was overcharged, so I let some out of it and it bought it down to about 40psi with it on and 65-70ish with it off, but now its blowing cooler than it ever has been so far... but not nearly as what it should.
So, with all that said, what should my gauge read with it on and off, etc... Does anyone think because its not that cold that I have air in the system? BTW... when I let some out, my compressor stayed on the whole time if that helps... I know someone that can extract all the stuff out off it or is their I way I can do it with a vaccum pump?? I'd appreciate anyones help with this... I'm lookin to get this fixed ASAP since its hot as anything lately

i say, go w/ the someone who has the vacuum pump/gauges to extract all the stuff out, then to turn off the vacuum pump & wait a bit to make sure there are no leaks in the system.then refill w/ fresh 134a...
i did purchase a recharge kit & did it myself (but i put it up to only ~28psi). mebbe lower it further from the 40psi now to see if it does improve.

Yea I think I learned the hard way... don't waste money on Pep boys or who evers R134 cause your just gonna mess it up more, lol. A guy near me works on A/C's and for 70 he said he evacuate the system and put fresh stuff in there the level it should be
