Default varied runner lengths on an intake manifold?

Has anyone every tried designing an intake manifold that used varied runner lengths? By this I mean, the runner furthest from the throttle body side being longer than the runner closest to the throttle body side and the runners in between being of some length between the two runners on the edge. I thought the Endyn design included this, but looking at pictures of it, I think the plenum just has a taper on it (which may have the same effect), and the runners were left equal length (having the runners taper was a pretty clever idea btw). The logic behind this is that air slows down as it travels down the plenum, and the runners all need to be different lengths to allow air to travel efficiently and still achieve a "fully developed" flow. Does any of this make sense at all? Keep in mind that this is all some theoretical junk I've been imagining, just seeing if its been tried yet...
