K-series - 2672cc: 90mm x 105mm short block

These are pics of our newly assembled NA development short block. It features Darton sleeves, machined and installed by ERL Performance featuring their unique "Superdeck" built upon a brand new Honda core with zero miles. The pistons are our 90mm, JE customs (14.8:1cr) mated with 5.893" Cunningham rods and .150" wall Western Wristpins. The 99mm K24A4 crank has been modified and prepped by Castillo's Crankshaft Specialist, stroked to 105mm for extreme NA duty as it will net a 1.42:1 r/s ratio.
If this combo makes the same hp/cc as the 2240cc motor, the increase in displacement alone is good for ~60hp totally ignoring the two additional points of static cr we now have vs. the other setup. Plans are to test first with stock cylinder head and get to the dyno ASAP.

Thanks for posting the pics! Very cool. Did anything need to be notched for clearance? Is that a K24 block? It seems like a taller block is desirable for stroker applications. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the results. I hope it runs as good as it looks!

Wherever the cams make power...
People will learn 1 way or another that r/s ratios are really not as important as everyone thinks (street/strip drag motors)
Stroke and torque gets you win lights at the drag strip

K24 block as machined by ERL Performance, required no notching of the girdle or base of cylinders to accomodate the 105mm crank throughout its throw with the entire rotating assembly in place.

To date, we have 4 NA cam applications that can be tested on this motor. We determine that a 5th will be the one this motor likes the best. We have 10,000+rpm cams, but that won't be the one it likes (on paper). We'll see how the motor responds with the stock cylinder head, induction and exhaust systems we have.
First rpm target is just 7800rpm.
