WHATS WRONG WITH MY CAR??? PLEASE HELP.. THANKS

I HAVE A 1989 HONDA CIVIC HATCHBACK DX... FOR SOME REASON TONIGHT.. MY CAR WENT DEAD.. LIKE NO INSTRUMENT LIGHTS.. NOTHING... AND CAR WOUDLNT KICK OVER... I LET IT SIT A WHILE AND THEN LIGHTS WORKED AND EVERYTHING AND CAR KICKED OVER.. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?? PLEASE LET ME KNOW... SO I CAN TRY AND FIX IT.. THANKS

check the battery terminals and connections to the starter. also check all grounding points. loose connections and or corrosion could be the source of your problem.
