I assume the DC5's "MAINT REQ'D" light is simillar to the DC2's, dealer wants some money, light. Does anyone know how to reset it or disconnect it permanently? I know the DC2 has a button under the dash that you can hold to reset it or you can remove the harness to the button to have it never come on again. But I am unfamilliar with the DC5.

 

if i'm not mistaken, you hold the trip reset button until the light goes away.
put your key to the on position without starting the car, and hold the trip reset button and the light will come off
i think this what my friend did on his 03-S
so don't quote me if i'm wrong.

do a search in this section, it was covered last week...

 

Make sure the car is in the Off position, push in the trip reset and hold it, click the car over to the II position, release the trip reset when the CEL goes away.

 

You have to hold that thing in for a looooooooooong time to get the reset to happen.
