Default Is a CAI hissing sound normal?

It sounds like its hissing when its at idle or a stop. Did I install it right? when I rev it does fade away a bit but I'm wondering if there might be something wrong. Yes i did connect the vacuum hose as well. I think it sounds pretty cool though.

Did you just get it? I'm pretty sure it should make some sort of noise. If i'm not mistaken that's just the noise of it sucking air? Mine makes the same noise.

Yes, hissing is normal on all open-element intakes.

yeah I live off a main 2 lane street that is like a half mile or something long and no one ever drives on it much, i took the eg up and down the street twice.. i loved the sound so much it makes me forget that i have a D under the hood and not a B anymore

I went on and tore the rest of the stock intake out and put the second half in anyway..

My e-bay short-ram whistles when the throttle butterfly is like just a bit open. Let's say i cruise in 4th or 5th gear and then i push the throttle down an inch or so to get a bit more power... its whistling like crazy... if i push more, it stops whitling and starts screaming! Heh...

Yep, it's normal.. it's something you'll like for a little while, but it gets old quick.. i don't like hearing it all the time, only when VTEC is screaming from the jdm b18c
