HELP! Stripped Cat Bolt Question
I just installed a set of Alphawerks Headers and a Magnaflow Cat Back exhaust system. Everything went well on the initial install, but after a few minutes of driving I noticed a scraping noise comming from the rear when turning corners. I found the new exhaust pipe was scraping on one of the heat shields. I unbolted the exhaust Y-pipe from the rear of the Cat, and made some adjustments.
When I bolted it back up, I accidentally caught the Cat's heat shield between the two flanges. When I tightened it down with my impact wrench, I stripped the threads right off one of the Cat bolts. Now the nut just spins.
My question is, can I replace the bolt? It looks like it has a Banjo bolt type head on it....not like a normal bolt. I can't tell if it's threaded through the cat flange, or if it's welded on. I've ordered a new one from the local dealer, but I don't know if I can get the old one off. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks!!

Oh no, getting it back out isn't the problem.....I can be very "convincing" in that respect......I just want to know if I can replace the bolt. It's not a normal looking bolt, so before I go beating on it, I want to hear from someone who's dealt with one before.
