Which engines and trans combo for a NA 1990 hatch

what is the best combo for my 90 hatch, b16, b18, etc..... gsr trans, etc.... and also where can i get them at??
thanks i'm need here.

B16A with a YS1 LSD equipped trans is a pretty awesome combination.

A 92-93 XSi B16A is a pretty good choice, but you'll have to convert to OBD1, which is a worthy wiring upgrade anyway.

Stay away from B18C5s, Cs, C1s, As, Bs, etc... B16A BELONGS in the Civic hatch, go with what Honda intended.

B series whatever you have money for and upgrade from there. If you search there is a lot of good info out there.

there are two types of the ys1 tranny...the one that came in the xsi (larger spline size-usually equipped with a factory lsd) and the one from an integra ls (long gears-not performance oriented at all).good luck finding a ys1 lsd...ive been looking for one forever
