i have a 03 civic si and want ot get a header. what are peoples opinions on the dc performance header + a test pipe vs. dc race headers....

is there a performance difference and any problems with the 02 sensor?

if you're referring to a 'shorty' style header with test pipe i'd say just get the full race header it'll flow better, and might as well since you are removing the cat anyway. You'll notice some good highend gains from the header, especially when vtec kicks in the o2 sensor problem can be fixed by KPRO, Casper o2 sim (not guaranteed?) or the mechanical o2 sim using two spark plug defoulers (also not guaranteed) or resetting the ecu it'll come on every few miles however.

Yup, you will get the same problem with the test pipe. The o2 sensor just tells you that your car is off and does not affect performance. Running race header or test pipe will affect emissions and since you live in CA, you might have a problem.

from a "hear say," i've heard the emissions in CA has been moved up to 6 years after purchase of a new car.

race header > shorty+test pipe combo. why? race header has less bottlenecks. therefore, continous/ unrestricted exhaust flow. both will pop-up O2 codes. either you reset it whenever it comes up, or just get an O2 simulator to override codes. there will also be fuel smell. it is loud when combined with an aftermarket exhaust.
