HELP!!! High Idle Smoking Header
Here's the deal:
I go out to put my HO2(heated O2 sensor) back into the stock header. I put it in fine. Only thing NOT ont he car that was teh last time i started ti is the header-heatshield.
I turn the car on and the idle is sitting between 1500-1750, now i sat there for the good part of 5 minutes and it DID NOT drop down by itself. I had to rev it up ~250-500 rpms and then it would drop down. I rev'd about 5 times and it finally settled back down to ~normal.
I get out of the car and go make sure the HO2 is still tight ont he header and it is, but WTF there is "smoke", a white colored smoke coming from all around my headers. I am praying to god nothing went wrong.
Anyone know why the idle might be "sticking-high" then dropping when i rev it?
And the only thing i can think of that would make the car smoke the way it was, was when i took the heatshield off i used PB Blaster to loostent he bolts. Maybe a lot of excess PB Blaster is burning off?
Please any input

sounds like two different problems.
the idle I would check out your IACV, maybe it's dirty or just clogged up.
the smoke could definitely be the PB blaster burning off. take it for a ride to get the ehxaust nice and hot and then check again for smoke. I bet once it's all warmed up the smoke will be gone.

possibly try resetting the ecu...see if that fixes it. or you could check, as stated above, the iacv - see if the screen is clogged, fitv - check to see that the stopper is not loosening up, and check for possible air pockets in the cooling system...
also vaccum line leak, but those dont usually go away after a while...
also check you thottle cable is letting the throttle plate or throttle body close all the way, some times with too much tension or a sticky throttle flap it will stick open just enough to get the idle up but then it goes away after you tap the throttle to unstick it...

it stayed that high for the good part of 4-5minutes so i revved it up ~250-500 rpms about 5 times and it finalyl settled......i didna ll of the previosuly stated except the iacv, and it still doing it
