Hey everyone. I have a new 05 Civic EX Special Edition, and my maintence manual says to change my oil every year or 10,000 miles. There is no way i am leaving oil in my car for 10,000 miles, any opinions on how often it should be changed. I am at about 2500 right now.

 

i think like 3500 on dino or 5000 on synthetic are good intervals.

yeah, my boyfriend, his dad and i were all trying to decide between 3000 and 5000. We will be using synthetic. thanks for all the opinions!

 

if you bought the car new, run the oil for about 2000 miles, then change with honda motor oil again and run that for 3000. then move on to whichever you like


depending on driving conditions, you can run 5000+ miles on fully syn motor oil. regular oil...3000-4000 sounds about right

 

i did buy the car new, it has about 2500 miles on it now.
