WHEEEEL RUUUUBBB *help!*
I have a 93 civic hatch, and it is lowered about an inch and a half with Tien S-tech lowering springs. Today I installed a set of 17" axis reverbs and am experiencing horrible wheel rub. I Dont really want to take out my teins, and I'm not sure what other options i have? I also dont want to take the wheels back. I'm thinking about possibly going to coil overs but I've heard that they dont ride as well. Can someone please give me some options? Anything even if it's bizzare. I could adjust the camber, so they wheels tilt in a little more, but i dont want the tires to ware down. Help!!!!
well, did you try taking out your weather guards or "fender liners" that might help. that what did the trick for my car. you can also roll your fenders at a shop.
Are u wearing on the inside or the outside fender wells? Either way it sounds like you got the wrong offset for your wheels instead of ur suspension giving you problems. If you are rubbing on the inside, you can try adding spacers till the rub goes away. If you are rubbing on the outside, you can first roll your fenders, then if that doesn't solve it, take it to a reputable wheel repair shop and try milling out a bit of the offset.
There is always selling your wheels and getting a set with the right offset.

What size tire did they put on? You shouldn't have any problem with a 17" rim with only a 1.5" drop. Sounds like the tire is just too big.
I recently put 15" Heliums w/205/55/25 Azenis on my EG and it rubbed like crazy. I did some ghetto fender rolling (hammer
), but that didn't solve it. So I had a couple friends sit on my hatch to check where it was rubbing.
There was this tiny metal tab sticking out inside where the 1/4 panel and rear bumper meet. Bent that **** and I was good to go.

I had an almost 2" drop and 17's on my 97 way back in the day and never had that much problem with wheel rub. Would only really get it on big bumps and what not. But not sure of the difference in area you have to work with between eg and ek so yeah but anyway I would go with smaller wheels if I was you. 16's usually look better anyway IMO.
To answer a few of these questions, The tires are 205/40/17 The rear wheels are doing the most of the rubbing. and it is on the outter side (on the lip of the fender). The front wheels are rubbing a bit but not too bad. I'm not sure what the offset is. Actually i dont even know what that means. The installers asured me that the offset is perfect. I think he said like 40 or something??? Anyways i paid quite a bit for these wheels, and am now stuck with having to purchase some sort of new suspension. OR do some body work. What are the best coil overs to go with? I'm thinking maybe skunk2.
someone replied to me saying that i could get the wheels machined? what does that involve? is it expensive? Flaring the rear fenders is looking like 500$ CAD. and the skunk2 coilovers are also 500$ I just dont understand why they're rubbing. Ialways hear of people that have lower civics than mine, with the same size wheels. This sucks. Also i cant return the wheels, or exchange them for smaller ones. I'm stuck with them....
