Painted my car
Well my car had problems with the clear chipping and peeling really bad on the hood and other places so i finally got tired of it and this is what i did...
Started with this notice the peeling on the hood...

Here we go...
Sanding

Masking

Primer

Paint

back together

now wet sanding rubbing compound and polishing one side

result

and the result for one side

Now its nothing near perfect but i did it all myself and ive never painted a car so this was my first time. Next time i know what to do differntly for better results.... so if you think it looks like crap ohh well.....

agreed, I think you did a great job, but I'd stick with the stock bumper. With as straight as your body is, a clean stock bodied crx is hard to come by these days.
hehe, looks like overspray owned you

The paint looks really good though

I agree. Either run the full kit or keep the stock front bumper. It looks very unproportional with just the front bumper. Nice DIY paint job though

Wow that paint looks good. Could I get some details? I mean you said this was your first time painting a car so I gotta ask did you use like a pro setup minus the booth to paint it with?

Maybe if you painted the bottom half of the Bumper black sort of like the stock bumper, the two tone color scheme, it will look better. I saw one some where on here. but I dont recall whos it was. He did silver and lower part black. I thought it looked good. Plus you can save ur self some money and avoid having to buy the rest of the kit or the stock bumper and put in the work to get it yellow. I like how it looks nonetheless but not full yellow bumper. GOOD job on the paint.

I'm not sure on his specifics, but its pretty easy. I have a automotive specialized paint store that sells all Dupont products. Prices on base coat depend on the portions, but typically it is going to run you around $60-100 for 2 pints of base. Then add on about $30 for a pint of etching primer, and $70 for enough base and primer activator. A large gallon of clear and activator will run about $100, but will last for multiple jobs. So your looking at close to $300 for all the primer/base/clear and appropriate activators. Recommend using a gravity feed air paint gun, as you will save on lost paint, and easier to keep from sucking air when gun is tipped. The $60 guns will work fine, i've had good results and not much difference between using a $60-90 gun compared to a $300 gun. Good results overall are a product of the preparation. If you don't sand down into the old base and don't clean any oils off, you'll get bad results. For a compressor, having a motor that runs 9+ cfm is preferred, but you can get away with less if you let the motor catch up periodically. Make sure you where masks and have some sort of ventilation, have known people you passed out after painting for an hour+ without a mask in a non-vented environment. Your lungs will thank you!
Well the paint i used was from ppg it ran about 130bux its a one step which means the clear is in the paint already and i purchased a quart. i used a hvlp gun wich is a high volume low pressure gun which works good and one cost about 75 bux ive had the compressor and its a 30gal no problems there. im not going for show quality paint yet as it was my first time and i wanted my car all tha same shade of yellow. also the rest of the kit is coming but i might put the oem bumper back on.

Good job for first timer
BUT!...
If i was you I wouldve atleast removed the lisence plate, taillights, removed the sunroof (so you wouldnt have to paint the weather stripping)...
In painting its all about prep.
