Car wont start
Help!!!! My car just died on me, right before it died i was hearing a strange noise coming from underneath the timing belt cover. and it just cut off and would not start back up when i was driving, no check engine light came on, but the battery light and the oil pressure light were on, i checked the ecu and no codes came up i checked all the fuses and everything looks good. Anyone have any suggestions? By the way its a 91 crx dx. TIA
what you want to do is check your timing belt. i've had the same problem a few years back when my timing belt broke on my 91 dx hatchback. luckly my valves did not get damage and just replaced my timing belt.
if your belt did break....what rpm where you running at?? if its pass 4000 rpm...you would want to check your valves...running higher rpms when timing belt breaks are more likely to damage your valves. the noise you were hearing is most likely the thread tooth...falling apart from the belt.
let us know how it goes. good luck
