Default Things to do to the engine bay while the motor is out?

Hey guys i'm pulling my motor out tomorrow to get ready for a swap. What are good things to do while the engine bay is out?

I know a thorough cleaning is a given and I dont want to do the wire tuck yet. Any suggestions?

If you plan on paint, now is a great time to pick a color .

Also, steering racks are a lot easier to get to without the motor being in the way.

mmm... I dont know, the fact that it takes 12 hours is less than appealing to me lol. But if I do think about it for a sec, I might just go ahead and do it since the bay will be empty until I save up and find a tranny for the LS.

I'm painting the car champ white but I think i'm going to leave the bay black.

im gonna go read the wire tuck thread

it takes 12 hours for a wire tuck huh... i made a new harness and tucked mine in a weekend, if you just move the wires around, and re-tape them/loom them that takes 2 hours.. paint the engine bay, remove anything un-needed, it's really just common sense...

What are the main seals for? I know there is one for the oil pump, but is that really necessary to change even when the pump isn't being changed?

The seals at the front and rear of the crank. Rear main seal is a very good idea, since it sounds like the tranny is not on the motor. Its behind the flywheel.
