skunk2 stage 1 cams on stock b16 valvetrain yah or nah??
I have a stock internal gen 1 B16 with all the boltons and a CTR intake cam. I was about to get a CTR exhaust cam to have it installed. I actually ran across a pair of skunk2 stage 1's and the duration is just slightly higher then the CTR's and lower then the buddyclub spec3's.
Would I be okay running these has a dropin till next year when I get my tax check if I keep stock 8200 redline. I plan on getting the head worked with valvetrain then.
And would it be safe to spray the car with these cams if so??

What about tuning them would it be neccessary to get gears and a vafc to get the maximum performance.
I just seen a dynoplot of a guy with CTR's in his b16 he upgraded to a skunk2 IM,64MM TB and skunk2 stage 1's and only gained 6whp and no torque gained..
I would think these would out performe the CTR'S by a good bit. The specs on the skunk2's are like 252intake and 249exhaust. I believe the CTR's are 240intake and 236 exhaust.
The skunk2 stage 1's should defintely be safer then buddyclub spec3's on stock valvetrain correct???

I'm gonna be getting either the matching CTR exhaust cam or these stage 1's either today or tommorow.
