Default Are these good times for the set up?

Got it out to the track finally. I have scans but they are too light, unless you wanna see some slow slips that bad.

Car 94 EJ1. B16A LS tranny, H22A Skunk2 ECU. Stock D16Z6 exhaust/no muffler, low tire PSI, rear int gutted, pass seat removed, pass headlight removed

I let someone drive my car before I drove it:

16.1 @ 78.81

My Race 1:

15.87 @ 88.97

Race 2:

15.78 @ 89.37 (Me) VS 15.70 @ 92.38 (2G LS Teg with N20)

Race 3:

15.76 @ 88.39

Race 4:

15.78 @ 88.19 (I had left the line much better in this run, but misshifted into 2nd, this was easily a 15.5 run. I managed to keep up with my other times despite the bad misshift.)

So, I think it is a 15.5 car, but shouldn't a EG B16 be at a mid 15 WITHOUT track prep, like gutting, headlight revoval, ect?

I guess it's sitill better than the 16 I expected, and it's a long way from the D16Z6's 17.1-16.9 I ran.

i think you need to work on your drivivng skills. i managed to run a 16.4 with my bone stock non vtec engine at the same track that you were running your 16.9 with 30 more hp and vtec.

That 17.1, 17.0, and 16.9 was the 1st time ever at a track. Yesterdays stuff was at Tri State, the Z6 was at Edgewater, running at those 2 places are like day and night. At E-Water, I just spun 1st gear, trying to do a "street racing" launch. It got me massive wheelspin, and wheel hop. At this track, I was able to lauch that way, and it worked. If I went to E water with this engine, I'd be in 16's for sure.

Weather: Hot as ****

Tires: 195/60/14 Kelly Chargers, but I had the fronts a little more deflated for the track

This is the car, just imagine it with only a driver seat, and the right headlight removed(not the corner)

That's a pathetic time . Why are you running the wrong ECU and what were your 1/8th mile and 60 foot times?

ECU? It was either that or a P28. That's closer to B16 than P28 is. Plus I have no knock sensor, I can't run a P30 or PR3-J01.

60ft:

1- 2.471

2- 2.512

3- 2.379

4- 2.452

1/8:

1- 10.34 @ 71.09

2- 10.27 @ 71.50

3- 10.19 @ 71.04

4- 10.20 @ 70.62

Change your tranny, ecu and exhaust and you'll be good to go.

That time you hit should be right but not for a gutted car it it had full interior then a 15.5 would be good for b16 in a ej1 specially here in so.cal.

I pulled a 15.9 in a 91 EX 4dr bone stock, 14.8 with a 92 LS Motor/Tranny in a 89 CRX. Those 60ft's killed you, if you could lower them to a 2.2-2.1 you would be in better shape. The LS tranny isn't killing your 1/8th mile though cause 1st and 2nd pull nice. The remainder of your 1/4 mile is what is effect from your 330+. - poke.

why do u have a b16 with an LS Tranny? what was wrong with the b16 tranny? the tranny is slowing u down a great deal. hell, even my stock motor 93 EX Coupe was able to hit 15.90.

The LS is killing the 1/8 th, I believe. I raced a B16 EG hatch with B16 tranny, and I got beat by a few cars from a stop, however, I beat it on the freeway.

1st and second are too long. Even 1st gear is like:

uuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnnnnn*VTEC*UUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Reason for the LS tranny was simple, there were NO hydro B16 trannys when I was getting my swap done. No private sellers, none of the shops either, I waited 2 weeks looking for the right one. Now that LS is in, it's going to be after all body and interior is done before I go messing with the tranny/engine.

Way, shorter gearing, better chipped program (from what I've heard), and the 1.25" ( ) are all killing your times.

You need to do something about the ecu first. The ignition maps are 3 degrees off, and I bet you're running way too rich. I wouldn't even consider taking a car to the track with the wrong ecu.

I dont have a knock sensor either, but all you will do is throw a code. It will retard the timing a little, but it is better than running a completely different fuel map. Or you could just wire one up.

Wow.. you're running a damned H22 map on a B16. Let's think about this here.. H22: 2.2L, 345cc injectors I believe. So you're running a map that's made for a much larger engine with much larger injectors. B16: 1.6L, 240cc injectors. A P28 runs the single cam Si motor.. this is much closer than a damned H22.
