splash guard removal/opinon
i was wondering how many of you removed your splash guards, like the plastic inside the wheel wells, and under the front of the engine. Im thinking of doing it because one of mine was ripped off when i took a turn and it got caught under the wheel... just wanna know what people are doing, cuz does it protect like wires and stuff? or just prevent dirt from getting in.
it protects as well as keeping dirt out etc. While mine are removed I do not reccommend it and as soon as I can find some in good condition I plan to reinstall. It is amazing the amount of **** that it thrown up from your tires inside there - really makes a mess. Also, depending on where you are from it may or not be an issue, but if you drive your car year-round in a state with snow - road salt is thrown in there and sits, eating from the inside out...
I say find replacements for damaged ones that hit your tires and install them, but thats just my opinion

yeah agree with you but they are hella ugly and dont look right in my opinion. Splash guards remind me of 4x4's and trucks. I live in Texas not too much rain so i took mine off thats my .02 cents.

the wheel well gaurds like stated above should be there to keep dirt out. the splash gaurds under the engine dont seem to do much, a lot of ppl remove those especially for turbo applications for air flow
put them back on. both of mine ripped off. whenever i drive in dirt i have caked up **** all in the door jambs. not cool. plus my intake gets all dirty like every couple of days. i was gonna fix it but i ended up giving my car to my brother and buying a crx!!!!!!!
I kept the fender linings, but removed the actual "mud flaps" at the rear of the front wheel wells. No big deal here, just avoid construction zones and cement/concrete powder after hitting puddles
Yeah, I totally recommend keeping them on.
Mine got torn off a long time ago and I just got around to acquiring replacements.
Just have to put them on - as soon as I get a chance.
They sure help reduce the dirt/dust that gets thrown around the bay by the tires and wind.

Mine are removed and it was a bad thing. Dirt goes all the way up the door jam up the door by the door release latch. It's really nasty. I plan on replacing it as soon as possible.
