Wanted video of an integra gsr gauge shot of vtec kicking in and rev to 8k
I am really thinking about buying an Acura Integra GSR and i just wanna get a taste of how they run...
go test drive one idiot
honestly all u gotta do is call someone up, tell them you're interested, then go check it out, take it for a drive then say, you want to take it to redline from 2nd to 3rd gear to see if it grinds when shifting (a common problem on integras with higher mileage)....then if it doesnt grind, everythings all good and you just got to experience 8000rpms of VTEC...and if it does grind, try and get them to reduce the price.
now how hard was that?

probably not but its just annoying how many people post on forums asking questions for stuff that they could find out on their own by just picking up a phone......i swear u can "feel" VTEC in a video anyway....test driving is so much more satisfying than watching a video.

I don't think it's overrated, I think it's fun. I love the way it sounds.

I guess the people who said go test drive one are right. You have to feel the Vtec to appriciate. From 5000 to 7800 rpm my GSR pulls like crazy. Drive one and you'll want it. Vtec are not overrated. It's like another 1/2 engine kicking in. You won't go wrong.

GyAH! I hate that so much. Mine has just started grinding going from second to third in higher RPMs. If i let my RPMs drop before shifting it's fine, but if i keep them it grinds like a bastard.
Pisses me off, cause it isn't any other gears only 2nd to 3rd.
I just passed 77,500 miles. So I donno if you'd consider that "high" milage compared to what it could be for a 97.
Anything I can do to fix that aside from a new tranny....which I really don't want to unless it's needed....or is the 'problem' not really anything bad/damaging to the car?

agreed video wont do anything for you---you gotta test drive for yourself... but anyhoo you're lucky i'm bored and have a video
BTW it might be pointless because it's NOT stock (cams, i/h/e, manifold)

What goes around comes around and when you talk to people like that, you wont make it too far without a black eye. There is a nice way to say things...you should learn!

by the way I thought VTEC was like some sorta super mini NOS or something lol by the way people talk about it. but when I drove my GSR I hardly felt anything. your car has to be modified with atleast i/h/e to feel the "kick"
when you're at least 6'1" youd be suprised how many people will avoid physical confrontation with you, so im not too worried about the "blackeye scenario".
thanks for the people who agreed with me....u dont get anything out of watching a video of a GS-R except a screaming engine....i just think this kind of thread is stupid because when I wanted to feel a GS-R pull i went and drove one and bought it that day...best 3500 i ever spent

being 6'1 doesnt give you all the right to be a dick. i agree that he should test drive a GSR better than watch a clip though.

i disagree...when i hit vtec in my gsr it screams..its a pretty significant difference in sound
as for the power..u can feel a pretty good difference
honestly it is over rated..dont get me wrong. i think vtec is excellent. im just saying people put too much into it like its a 75 shot of nos or something
still good though
VTEC
