I talked to a guy and he said that if i run about 7 psi daily, with a turbo on a stock engine, that my car will only last me a month, i drive on average 25 miles per day, is that true. Plus he said that i wont be able to go on the highway and drive at high speeds like 100+, is that tru too? Please let me know, and also whats the best turbo for my car in order for me to get the best 1/4 times. if you could name some good brands off the stuff you listed and give me an approximate price thatd be great, which turbo would i get the best 1/4 mile, and last the longest with, drag, revhard, or fmax, someone told me those are one of the best.
the ring lands on the pistons usually collapse.
Even with perfect tuning i doubt it would last long.
I have seen 15 turbo 5g. each one did the same thing. some were on 6psi some
on 14. No detonation on any of em.

errr...speaking on experience I don't think that 7psi is going to hurt. I drove around for >6mos at 10psi and never had a problem until I spiked to 15+...

If you stay on the conservative I really don't think you'll have much trouble but if you get too agressive in your tuning and try to run higher (>9psi or so) boost you will run into trouble. I'd suggest doing your homework and know what you're getting into. For a 5th gen you're primarily looking at drag and fmax for kits...both have their pluses and minuses for which I'm not going to get into. After having gone through it I'd highly suggest starting with a kit w/o any of the fuel mgmt stuff they include and get appropriately sized injectors w/ some type of standalone to control it all...

Could this have anything to do with the fact that Prelude motors are notorious for burning oil?
Now, I'm worried about my B21! currently running 4psi non-intercooled.

I have had my kit at 8-9psi for several months now. I have had the turbo for more than a year at 7psi+. I broke the ring lands twice, once was a boost control mishap, 16psi and no fuel = piston failure. Next I ordered 40lb injectors and was sent 32lb injectors and found out after a little boosting with the wrong fuel pressures (set up for 40lb ones). Otherwise, good tuning will keep the stockers fine. I did do an 8psi 120mph uphill test in 5th gear to be sure, it was fun and the car is fine as well. Just my experience with a 5th gen turbo.... BTW, my uphill was from 3000rpm to @6000rpm, my car usually leans a bit in those areas, what better way to test and tune than at full load?????
