Default Can't shift; won't go in gear?!?!?

my problem is that when i push in the clutch pedal sometimes it makes this weird noise. Like the noise a little toy car makes when you drag it backwards and let go. the noise sounds almost like something is spinning. and when i put the car into gear sometimes i have to force it. a lot of the time i can't down shift to second because it just won't go in. now my third gear grinds sometimes and this problem is more noticable at rpms greater than 4,000. the grab point on the clutch pedal is very high. I mean I barely have to push in the clutch to change gears. i was gonna change the tranny fluid but i didn't think it was gonna help much if at all. How long do you guys think that my tranny will last before it self destructs? And will it cause greater damage to anything else if i don't fix the problem immediately?

sounds like you need a new clutch mine was doing that and then i was driving down the road and my clutch went out completely, had to replace it, shifts smoothly now, but still grinds in 3rd and reverse clicks cause my tranny is busted

sound like the springs on the clutch disk are broken, replace the clutch and you should be fine

heres a great tip someone told me. look at your clutch pedal where it meets the firewall, there should be a rubber boot, if there is any kinda fluid that means you got a leak and need a new clutch master cylinder

No, I know it's not the clutch master, cuz i have already replaced teh master and slave within a year ago. there was leaking before and that is why I changed both of them. when tha happened, the clutch pedal would not come off the floor. I think it IS the clutch, and possibly the springs. I WANT JDM TRANNY!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys.

yup, pretty common for teg. Same thing happened to me, driving on the freeway, downshifted 4th to pass, after that it was just like you said.

SAME HERE! freeway.. downshifted to 4th to pass, didn't want to go anywhere after that unless i really FORCED it in. then when i would re-engage the clutch i would hear this loud *** howling/buzzsaw sound.

one of the springs on the clutch had broken off..

replaced it with a Neuspeed N2 and now it drives fine.
