integra 5speed / auto ECU differences
I have a B18A and ECU (from a 91) that I am planning to put into a 1990 hatch. The doner integra was an automatic. Since the civic will naturally be a 5 speed, will the auto ecu give me the same power as a 5 speed ECU? I know it will run the engine in the civic. I just want the most from the b18 in my civic. I've searched and can't seem to come up with anything. Please help!
well, it will run the engine, but you will be constantly getting a check engine light, something about auto trans lockup solenoid or something like that. im not sure anyone really knows how to convert the pr4 from auto to manual, atleast the wiki on pgmfi doesnt have any info on it that i have seen.. but ill bet money that it involves swapping a jumper.. i have a pr4, but i dont have a car to test it on to see if i have succesfully eliminated the auto trans lockup circuit. ill take a look at it and see if there is a similar jumper layout to the pm6 which can be easily converted to manual.
as for the same power, i have seen auto cars have less hp on the dyno in stock form. the b16 auto has like 15 less hp than the b16 manual because something about the engine itself is different, and i think it is in the cams.

This might be what your looking for if you want to change over your auto ecu to manual: http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin...anual But it doesn't mention anything about removing the transistors in the auto slots IC15 & IC16. I just got a so called stock p72 ecu the other day from some guy off of ebay for my gsr motor and its not even the right board and the knock sensor board isn't there, plus someone put a "JUN" chip in it and switched it over to vtec from non-vtec. The guy won't really talk to me about it, i'm bummed cause I wanted to chip it myself and not fix someones bullshit lie,but oh well f*** him. Heres another place you can check out too: http://technet.ff-squad.com/how-to/ecu.transcheck/
