The correct size is 6.5 but if the magnet basket on the back is too big it aint going to fit i know for a fact that 6.5 rockford fosgates wont fit becase there basket is too deep so i went with some sonys with a smaller basket and everything worked fine, check the basket depth i bet that is your problem

you can probably make them fit with the use of MDF rings to space them out some more, you have a little of an inch to work with between the door skin and door panel before you will have issues getting the door panel back on.

or you can cut the back out of those plastic things in behind the stock speakers and that may also help

is this on a 3rd gen or 2nd gen teg? i have the DA and i put rockford fosgate components in the front and power series in the back and they all fit fine. i had to cram the speaker cover in the rear though, i didn't want the factory speaker covers on there.

haha, i had the same problem with my 6.5 in the front. i just cut out the back of the basket like stated above, then the diameter was also a tiny bit too large so i just angled in the screws and taped it up...it works great now

hope this helps
