No "personal" experience, but Stainless Steel Brake corp. has been doing brake upgrade kits for american iron for a long time.

... 18" wheels required.

The other thing to consider is the availability of pads and compounds.

They also make a caliper for the rear which fits the stock rotor. I saw it in a parts catalog that came to the house

Are you in need of better Modulation? cause I love the way the caR feels with Spec VRs, blue & SS lines on stock calipers. I just need to take the heat shields off the car before the next track event. I would not change a thing, well maybe add some cooling ducts to it but I don't see that as being necessary for a long time.

Do you guys have any problems in the rain, when you take the heat shields off?

No problem in the rain.
Had them taken off when D and I re-did a lot of the car prior to the Expo. Also still have the VR's on the front and GT Sports in the back.

Oh, btw ... with sp00m calipers.
Still need to check for stray air bubbles in the lines with a fresh bleed in a couple weeks when I get back home.

I hate the fact that some people think that the ITR's braking system MUST be upgraded.

Sure, there are reasons to upgrade the brakes but a non-specific reason like "so I can stop better" isn't one of them.

I can't think of a better reason.
The problem cames when you try to define "how" to stop better.

And I do understand that tires play a big part in this, as does the diameter of the wheels (as was mentioned by Matt in the other brake thread).
Fade is a criterion to consider, as is improved pad wear, etc., etc.
