Question about radio harnesses
I have a 88 CRX which had a 95? GSR CD player in it. It plugged right into my wiring. I have since sold the CD player and the guy says it didnt plug right into his DA Integra and he had to buy a plug for it. Now the CD player wont work in his car or any other one. Other CD players will work fine in his car though. I KNOW it was working fine when I shipped it and would bet my life on it.
I had a 90 Integra parts car and IIRC the radio plug was the same. I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with this. Are the plugs the same or different? I wasnt really sure to post here or in the Integra forum but I thought I would get better help in here.

The plugs on Honda/Acura are the same from 86 to 97/98 and changed from 97/98 and newer, there are some "xovers" in 97/98 not all Honda/Acuras changed in 97 but all had in 98, http://www.installdr.com If the harness will plug into the HU they are obviously the same, the 2 diff. plugs 86 to 97/98 and 97/98 and newer will not plug into an oem HU that does not have a matching plug, so the plugs can not be the problem, I would ask the guy to check the pins in the HU to make sure none have been bent to one side, [so its not "plugging in"]

</TD></TR></TABLE> Are you the one the has the HU? If so. I would check for power at the radio plug, the yellow/red stripe is the switched power, and the white/yellow or blue stripe is constant power, and the black is ground, if all are good and the plug plugs in properly, no bent pins, then you have a problem in the HU itself, one of the not so common problems on Honda/Acura HUs is cold solder joints on the connections to the PC board of the plug, can be tested by plugging the unit in and moving the plug around, I have found this problem on a few oem HUs, I have even opened the HU up and re-soldered all the plug connections on one or two, [that "wiggeling" the plug made no diff.] and have them work fine after.

Ok well I bought this from butane for a friend of mine. He didnt have a cd player in his DA teggy so yeah i thought it would be nice to hook him up with one. When i gave him the cd player, he didnt have the adapter that plugs into the head unit itself so he went to buy that. When we went to buy the adapter, we tried it and connected the head unit onto the harness and everything. We tried to turn it on to punch in the code but it didnt turn on so i was guessing something was wrong with the wires. Then we happen to find another honda/acura oem head unit and plug that into the car. That head unit worked perfectly inside my friends car but the one that butane sent me didnt work. So i was thinking maybe it was the adapter. The guy above said that if the adapter plugs in perfectly into all slots then it should work. i dont want to run him off his money and send it back saying that it doesnt work and everything so im gonna takei t to the repair shop to see if it IS the headunit's problem.

After reading your post, I rechecked all the posts and realized that it was not a 95 GSR

And you have checked both the radio fuse in the in-car fuse box and the back up power fuse, [7.5A] in the engine bay fuse box?
Also you should not need any adpt. to plug a HU from a 95 GSR into a 92 DA, the 92 DAs oem radio harness should plug right into the 95 GSR HU
