B16A WILL NOT START
I have searched and found that I need to check all 4 plugs for spark, see if I am getting fuel, check comp, and timing. Well, last night I did all of the above and it still will not check.
Now I do not have a timing light but I did set the cam gears to TDC and the car back fired 3 times and just continues to try at turn over. My fuel pressure gauge is right about 40psi and I got spark on all 4 plugs.
I was wondering if maybe it will not start because of the 3 things that are unplugged. here are 3 links to the things unplugged

it is the plug on the intake manifold by the injectors. I swear that this gets hooked up but I can not find the damn plug anywhere
2) http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg
this is buy the transmission, Vtec solenoid

by the map and IVAC
I am also getting CEL code 10, what is that. I could not find the section in the helms book that gave me what the CEL code stand for.
please any help would be greatly appreciated I am going nuts over this. It is my first time doing this. Trail by error is the only way to learn. Thanks in advance.

I too am havine the same problem but have only checked for spark. If my timing was way off would it make it so it would not start? I am pretty sure all my plugs are hooked on though? I feel yeah man.
while I was searching what to check to see what might have been the problem, I read that timing, plugs, firing order, compesion, fuel could be the problem.
Is the firing order for an OBD dissy and and OBD2 dissy the same? I just now thought of that?
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME. I WOULD LOVE TO DRIVE MY CAR IT HAS BEEN 11 MONTHS.

hey crexer, what about the sensor on the IM by the injectors? does it have to be plugged up? if so, where in the hell is the plug located on the harness? I would think it would be near the injectors but everything close to it is already hooked up
thanks again guys and gals
thanks again guys and gals
1. In that first pic that is for the intake manifold temp. My b16a has a red and a green wire both with yellow stripes going to it and on my harness that plug comes out right with the injectors. What harness are you using?
2. Zoom out, I have no idea where that second plug in the pic is...I dont have any like that in my engine bay
3. In the last picture that plug also looks unfamiliar with a b16 harness....your map and purges are plugged in? Again we need to know which harness you have

the harness is for an 90 hf crx, I am sorry about the confusion. I was told by someone that there is on plug that is not hooked up for some hf sensor. I will take better pics tonight and post them up if my lap top works at my moms house. thank you again for helping thus far. I want to drive this damn thing. I have had a freshly built motor setting in my garage for 6 months and now in the car for 2 weeks. It is driving me insane.
reverse that instead of rotating your rotor. 1 turns into 4, 4 turns into 1, 3 turns into 2, 2 turns into 3. That's just a quick fix. Make sure all your wiring going to your ecu is connected. Check if you're getting spark.
Check you wiring. More than likely it has something to do with that. I know that my rotor only went on one way. It had a flat side that only fit on one way. If you are getting fuel and spark then it must be timing. Your code 10 is your intake air temp. That is the plug on your intake manifold. You run the plug from underneath up inbetween the runners. I modified my dx harness when i did my swap and there was one unused plug and the wires to it were really long. I had to legthen one plug because the plugs for my IACV and intake temp were right next to each other on the harness by they were a good 10 inches apart on the motor.

lol o **** man that sux about ur girls friend... your IAT sensor will be under your intake manifold just laying there i'm sure and if you can't find it unplug ur harness and pull it out and find it then..
hey I just thought of something that I forgot to ask. What hooks up to the 2 two holes on the VSS? I do not remember taking anything off of it. Is it supposed to stay open or should I plug them? thanks again for everything thus far, I am going to work on the car tomorrow hopefully I will get it running. I will let know how what happens!
I got to work on the car this morning and I want to thank everyone for trying to help this far.
I finially got the car to turn over and run put then it dies! but at least it cranks over now, I or should I say we are in the right direction. I unintalled the engine harness and there it was the mo**er F**king IAT plug, I had the damn thing plug it the plug on the back of the block above oil filter. What is that plug for anyway? I looked through my honda bible but sense I do not now what plug it is it is hard to find the correct page in the helms book. Anyway I found that plug wedged under the ENDYN Breather tank hoses.
Needless to say, I still need your help guys and gals. Why would the car start then die? I get fuel, I get spark, and ((??the timing is right sense it starts and dies right??)) No CEL codes anymore.
Could it be that my idle is not set right? I installed the 70mm RPM throttle body with my build. I did not mess with that at all. Thanks again, I would love to get this car running so I can drive it tomorrow to work. I owe everyone greatly! When I get it finsihed I will spit shine it and post pics to show you the new heart you help transplant.

also no one anwered me when I ask what about the 2 nipples that stick out of the VSS. Should I plug them, is there something that goes to them, or is it ok to leave them open.

thanks, I will go out there and and do that now. Now I do not have any power steering fluid of course but can I use GM sycromesh instead, or should I go buy some power steering fluid instead?
Do you have any idea of what I can do to get my car started, well keep it running? Thank you for the help.

bump... someone else on here has to have some more input on this. COME GUYS AND GALS, help out on 1st time swaper
I went out again and seen that the is no throttle response on my Vtec controller, why is that. I can put the throttle to the floor, and it does not read on the controller. And yes it is hooked up.
