is this right? 91 si vs 88 std hatch weight?
https://honda-tech.com/zero...56615
This thread says the 1991 si weighs 2291 lbs!
And it also says the 1988 std weighs 1933 lbs!
Well, I have a 91 si that I've swapped in a full b-series + hydro tranny and 5-lug. And I've weighed it without the rear interior: 2280lbs!
So basically, if I had done this to an 88 standard, I'd be right at 1922lbs!
STFU!!!

No, if you did that to an 88 std you would definately be over 2000 lbs.

you've got to understand that part of the difference in weight between an si and a std is in the motor and trans. i'm not sure of the exact weight differences, but a d16a6 w/ 5 speed tranny probably weighs a bit more than d15b w/ 4 speed tranny. so you can save a couple hundred pounds, but eda6 is right that you'd be over 2000 for sure after the motor swap.
lol. I had a full interior, a/c, zc 88hf that weighed in under 1860#. I now have partially gutted hatch(still have a/c in hot ol florida)1.7 89dx hatch. I have scales next ot my house. Hoping the the hatch is in low 2100#'s. My 00si weighed 2580#'s.

The reason is that they charge trucks by the weight of the garbage dumped. So they have to weigh before and after.
