Default ACL bearings vs OEM bearings

ok so i want to replace all my bearings, i know OEM would be the right way to go and get all the specific sized bearings. but thats a good 200 bucks in bearings. ACL is nearly half the cost. now would it be ok to use acl bearings rather then sizing for OEM? i mean obviously i dont want the motor to go on me or spin a rod or anything like that. but i also dont wanna pay out the *** for bearings. any input would be great.

Acl makes a really good bearing, if the clearances all spec out the same or very close you can get away with acl as the acls are not available in the different thicknesses that the oem honda bearings are.

i used nothing but oem honda bearings in my gsr build..

ACL is what, yellow and green? or pink and green? something like that?

If you find out what your stock bearing color codes are, and if they arent "all over" the chart, and your stock sized bearings were close to the size of the acl's, then id say that would be fine. any way else, i would say no.

Thats in your case.

I go with oem main and rod bearings with the coating on them

yeah you're right. ACLs are available in standard(I don't know how that compares to honda bearings) and +0.25.

I always hear nothing but good things about ACL. Alot of top engine builders use them I'm shure they can give some feedback.

They have always come within specs on everything I have done. But there WILL be a case here and there where you will have to buy an OEM bearing or two.

I used ACL's in my build, all the clearances were dead on, engine seems to be in great shape, no abnormalities.
