Questions about Clutch's and Flywheel's
Ok here is the deal, I have a 97 D16Y8 and a 1991 Civic Si cable tranny. well i was looking on ebay at a clutch and flywheel combo and my question was, can i use the 1991 Clutch & Flywheel on my 97 motor. Thanks to whoever can help

90-00 flywheels are practically identical. And clutches/pressure plates too, i think.
Pretend like you have a complete '91 si engine and transmission combo and buy the flywheel and clutch for that. It will bolt up to the Y8. You'll be fine.

if you are buying a complete clutch kit, you want the 91 as throwout bearing is different on 92up

Put the flywheel/clutch and pressure plate of the transmission. That of the 89 si.
I know that the '90-'91 clutch, flywheel and pressure plate work on the 89 si transmission (thats my setup). The 90-91 clutches are larger than the 88-89 clutches.
