Driving without a hood
anyone ever drive without their hood for a while? i gotta pick up a hood tonite, and i figure the best way is to just take my current hood off and drive over to pick it up and install it right there. should be less than an hour drive on the freeway.
anyone have any experience with sometihng like this? im pretty sure its NOT illegal. might still attract unwanted attention. but any real danger of damaging anything? aside from the stray boulder or act of god?

you might get in trouble...i mean i have done it before to help overheating issues....but someone told me it can be considered dangerous because fkuids can spray on the road ir something can fly outta the hood and hurt someone....but i did it and prolly will again........
Tyson!
CRX_1.8T did that on our Cruise to Cruz in May and the car was just fine... drove around all day without the hood, we stopped to talk to cops too, and no problems at all. lol

Yea, in CA we're not in trouble. At least I haven't heard of anyone getting in trouble for it. Hell, there's always cars with no hoods on at the runs.
And cops don't say a thing.

Yeah jus tell the cops (if u get pulled for it) that your old hood got stolen, and your picking one up. And if they want, go ahead and follow u there to install it.

thats all I would be worried about. Or have some punk steal your spark plug wires or something. err, I guess that would make it 2 things to worry about.

Well, if you're going just to pick up the hood, go for it!
For the rest of you... put your damn hood on! If you got one, why not use it? If you have overheating problems.. fix them! Keep the damn hood on..
Also, don't go advertising your swap.. you know how thieves are, these days.
Man, am I the only one who finds this not cool and very unattractive? Haha
