Default Broke rear motor mount... Will an insert help?? How do i install it?

Hey I got a 96 integra rs
the rear motor mount is broke im pretty sure.
I was wondering if i go to autozone and buy a motor mount insert if that will fix my mount issue.

Also how do I install it, what do i need to get, remove, and do.

How hard is it? Something I can do in an hour or two?

thanks

If the stock rubber is totally messed u will need to replace the mount first. If it is just torn then you can slid the inserts in and bolt it back up.

It is a pain because of where it is located, you have to slide the engine bracket up away from the mount and pop in the inserts correctly, then drop it back down over them and bolt it all back up.

A cheap alternative is filling the mount with polyurethane caulk. I did it and have had no problems, plus ive heard inserts can fall out sometimes. check it out on google.

No need to jack up th motor... take ALL the bolts out of the rear mount EXCEPT for the ones holding it to the firewall. Then you can slid the bracket up above the mount and squeeze the inserts in. Then you can drop the bracket back down onto the mount and bolt it all up... nothing else required.

BTW, the rest of the Mounts will hold the motor while you are doing this. Dont worry about jacking up the motor.

I just did mine about 2 months ago... was a pain to reach down and squeeze the mount in, and to get the mounting bracket up high enough I might have had to play around with some other stuff. (I think you might have to pop off the heater core inlet hose for a few mins... no big deal)

Have fun...

the rear mount cant fall out, the side one could, but that is what big zip ties are for.

You need to jack the motor up a few inches, nothing much.

Search for motor mount inserts. I did a long write up in a thread a while ago. Basically it is a BIG PITA!!!! but once you have it done you wont have to touch it for a long long time

Recermech is right, the rear wont fall out, and squeeze some silicone in between the 2 side ones before you ziptie them and they wont go anywhere either.

It might be a lil easier after this... I dunno, but I didnt have to mess with jacking up anything but the car.

And a few inches? thats ALOT! I mean you would have had to remove the other mounts and stuff before that?
