Yeah. It works great.
I did one last night in my little sister's EG. It's super fast man.
I converted it to RWD too. I used the Hasport mount kit and everything bolted up perfectly.
It's so much fun drifting on the streets in my little sister's F20 EG. I pwn Silvia's all day long. My friend even got so mad at me yesterday because he has a real S15. He threw his BOV at me... he reached under the hood, pulled it off, and threw it at me while doing a drift. That's so hardcore.
But hey, I mean, honestly, what can you expect? He didn't know I had a S2000 swap though, he thought I was running a stock D15B.
Well, I kinda am. I used the Hasport rear mount kit for the D15B7. What it does is it places the motor in the rear of the hatchback so that when I'm just crusinin' I can use this motor and save on gas. I use regular unleaded and get 45-50mpg.
But when I wanna drift or race I use the S2000 motor. It's great. I'm hoping install some headers and turbo tomorrow. Maybe throw in a supercharger for good measure.
Anyhow, everything I used can be found on http://www.hasport.com

I don't see why it would be impossible or any kind of waste of time to perform a swap like this. Hell, there's a guy around driving around in a primer painted 91 jetta with a chevy 350 converted to rear wheel drive.
I say this: Find a motor, tranny, ecu, and rear axle. Find pinouts and electrical diagrams for each car. Mount the rear, mount the motor and mount the tranny. measure shakle to shackle for the driveshaft and make sure they line up perfectly. Take your measurements to a machine shop or driveshaft shop and have them make you one and balance it. Wire it up and start it up.
This process isn't as hard as it seems but it is time consuming and laborous. Measuring, remeasuring and measuring again can and will seem tedious but doing something that no one or very few have done before is a very satisfying feat. I feel people that think a little outside the box should be rewarded and not shot down before they even begin a project. Everything starts with an idea but lately it seems as though if alexander graham bell himself came on this message board and said: "What if there were a way to talk to someone a mile away using only a wire and speaker?" you people would call him a dumbass and tell him to go **** himself because he's living in a world of make believe or some ****.
Grow up and instead of making fun of people with wild ideas why don't you guys give them suggestions on how to start the project.
In fact a few years ago, this project was done by someone with an eg hatchback I saw at a show in Carlise.

its possible to make it fwd.
theres a guy running the f20c with the k20a2 6spd tranny. he made a adater plate. he also puts b18c's into elise's.
its a thread here on h-t too. gotta search for it iono where its at.
EDIT - i found the site, but looks like they abandon the f20c project.
http://www.prototyperacing.com/ they only deal with K series now

A friend of mine has a 1994 Civic Si, with a s2000 motor and RWD... It cost him around $14000 to do it because he had to removed the sunroof and get 18 inch spinners.
car is dope, first time at the track did a 15 second flat... which is great considering dude weighs 450 lbs..

if i see one one more of these threads where somebody posts the photochopped pictures from prototype racing....i m just gonna shoot myself. it is true that joe from prototype looked at the swap and decided against it after playin with the k20 in the elise. HOWEVER there is one picture i have seen of a belgium race car with an f20c with the k20 transmission bolted up. it is sitting way to far foward and looks like the weight distribution would be way off. i think the swap is doable and isn t such a bad idea as long as you intend on keepin the car a front wheel drive. cutting up a unibody chassis designed and engineered for for a the opposite purpose makes no sense. the f20c is a very well designed power plant that is fairly affordable if you keep your eyes open, although thats the smallest portion of this swap, because you would then need mounts, adapter plate, axles and some form of engine management

The problem with it is that its not a plug and play swap. It's not even really worth it in IMO. If you are going to conver the hatch to RWD ... atleast use a V8 or at the very least a I/V6...
Doing a S2000 swap is stupid. Not worth the money at all.

3 years ago, I was planning a RWD EG, I wanted to have a transverse layout though with the front axles removed from a CR-V trans. During my search for ideas, I found that some ******* beat me to my idea and was featured in honda-tuning magazine, then I found an F20C EG, some guy in Georgia has it, he had to trim the firewall and make custom mounts/driveline/axles, then he had to remove the gas tank and use a custom fuel cell, but it's been done.
Just because you think it's a dumb idea, doesn't mean it's a dumb idea. I think unpainted carbon fiber and the "JDM" look is dumber than an F20 EG.

And I think a V8 RWD EG is a better idea and more worth the effort.

why even bother with a civic chassis?just use a pinto, chevette, etc if you want a v8 in somethin small because its not gonna handle worth a damn anyway. a worthwhile swap in my eyes would be an older miata with an all aluminum 302 and rx7 tranny and rear end. this front to rear drive stuff makes no sense. just build a tube frame and put a civic body on if all you want is the attention anyway
