Wings west sideskirts, Door wont open! DOH! Please help?
Ok so ive installed my WW kit on my 89 shape CRX but only to find that the door wont open now due to the lip being in the way, if I mount them any lower I reckon it will look a tad ****
I have 2 options the way I see it, leave them where they are and file/sand away some of the P/U until the door opens although this defect may be noticable when the kit gets painted.
Or, mount them a little lower so they are not flush and have the bodyshop flush them in with filler
Please post your comments
It look although the kit is a poor fitment and due to its thickness its not flexible when fitting. Does anyone ever heat up P/U to bend it into shape?

you sure its the skirt and not the door cap thats getting in the way? I had no problems when I put my kit on for the side skirts. The front and rear bumpers are usually what needs to me trimmed and fitted
I havent fitted the door cap jus tthe skirt and was havign problems opening the door. Ive now screwed the sideskirts in place (the bottom part) and its ok.
Ive now got the problem of fitting the door cards, they stick out too far at the bottom, is there filing/sanding to be done? Can this kit be gently heated to help it flex into position more so?
Thanks for the replies

My first car was a 1985 Porsche 944...I got into a minor front end accident,
bought a front kit from fiberwerks.com, installed it myself...Learned hard way to just give it to the bodyshop....
Second and current car is a '88 CRX Si (w/ b16a
)
and gave everything (Wings West kit and ViS CF hood) to bodyshop
Have it done right the first time
