ihave a 92 hatch and it has a b18c1 full conversion in it with only 10k miles on it. when it idles, its pretty rumbly and makes an annoying rattling sound. it sounds like a piece of flimsy metal clanking on something. but when i rev it up slightly it goes away since its not as rumbly as when it idles. i looked under the hood to see if anything was hitting and i found nothing. anyone have the same problem or know whats clanking? oh btw, i have ram air intake, ws2 catback, and itr headers if that helps at all. thanks in advance.

 

Check your heat shields either by your header, cat or muffler.

 

check your lower header bracket...it might be rubbing on the half shaft...thats what happened to me for some odd reason

yes, check one of those...when i bought my car, i would have the same loud annoying rattle sound at idle at aobut 1500 rpm...removed the lower heatshield on my cat and it went away

 

yea i think its the shield on the cat. it idles awfully low around 750 ish almost 800. but when it goes slightly up its gone. i think im just gona adjust the throtle linkage so that it idles where its supposed to be. that should cover it right?

 

^^^ i think that can work...try it first before you go on and removing any shields

 

Your car is idling correctly. I believe it's 700 +/- 50.

 

wow, i always thought that was low haha. i guess not. just got emissions done today and it indicated an idle at 750.
