Quick question, a 2003 civic sedan 1.7L (non vtec) uses how many quarts of oil?
I know it uses 5w20 but I dont know if it is 3.5 or 4 quarts of oil. I thought it was 3.5 qts but when I poured the old oil into an empty gallon of milk, it filled up a little pass the top. 4 qts = 1 gallon. Car is just bought used at 31,000 miles, its now 34k miles and its the first oil change im doing for this car. Is it 3.5 qts or 4? Thanks.
Says in the owners manual. If not, call the Honda dealer.
IIRC, it's something like 3.4 quarts, though. Just stick 3.4 in it and see where you're at. At lot easier to add than subtract oil.

Umm, as someone said...a little less is better than too much when it comes to oil.
