Default My SCCA/NASA legal roll cage.

THis is my NASA honda challange H4 race car. I had another post on here about the spliter that I fabracated. that was as far as my fabracating skills went.

I took the car to Calculated Risks LLC, to have them put in a roll cage for me. The cage work is excellent, and it fits perfectly. This cage along with the rest of the cages he builds are awsome cages, and i again stress how tight the cage fits everwere.

The drives side door bar is a new design that he came up with and i really like. The bars are stronger then nascar bars, lighther, and they make for getting in and out of the car alot easier then with nascar or x door bars.

the pics above were just from the first day he had the car, the next pics are from today, due to my work i wasn't able to get by his shop every day

Can you tell me for nasa or scca is there a minimum or maximum angle for the down tubes that run back from the main hoop to the rear shock towers?

Is there online notes for cage specs?

Thanks

I like the door bars, but I don't think they're NASA legal.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by NASA 15.6.12 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Door Bars / Side Impact Protection
At least one (1) door bar on driver side and one (1) on the passenger side must be used.
The driver’s door window glass, window operating mechanism, armrest, map pockets,
door panel, and inside door latch may be removed providing that is for the sole purpose
60
of installing “NASCAR” style door bars.* The stock side impact beam, if equipped, and
the outside door latch/lock mechanism shall not be removed or modified.
*This gutting of the door is only permitted on driver’s door and, if undertaken, the roll
cage must incorporate at least two (2) NASCAR style door bars that extend into the
door. Certain class rules may supersede this rule. “NASCAR Style” means to NASCAR
specification in regard to configuration. For example, the two required bars should be
parallel with respect to each other, and contain the appropriate vertical support tubes.

this design is safe then the nascar door bars.

If you look at nascar door bars they have many bends making them week, these door bars only have one bend and its at the point of impact which makes them stronger.

and the car has been OK'd by a NASA tech

I like the dash bar moved up so it doesn't brake your legs when you hit a wall.

Nice cage (s)!
