Default Problems with stock CD Player staying in one place.

Well...I tried to search, but i couldn't find anything. Is anybody using the 1999-2000 SI CD Player, or the S2000 2000-2001 model cd player in the integra with stock radio trim? I have one with the stock radio trim, i got the side metal pieces to get on the cd player, but when i push it in place, it goes in pretty perfect, but the thing is it wont clip on / stay on sturdy. Is there suppose to be a clip that makes the cd player/radio trim stay in place? Everything i'm driving it'll fall out of place sometimes and is quite annoying.

I believe there are a couple of screws in the back that anchor it to the dash kit, at least that's how it is on my DA. I had to reach up under the rear of the dash with a tiny screwdriver or socket w/ extension (8mm?) and screw them in. If you look on the underside of the deck, you should see 2 screw holes.

I don't have anything to bolt it up to, i don't have the bolts for it anymore, I'm not sure if there are holes at the bottom of the si/s2k cd player or not.

I had this problem once, and I bought a thin flexible strip of metal that already came with a line of holes in it, I bought a small screw that fit into the back of the head unit, and screwed one end of the metal strip onto the headunit, then the other end I wrapped around the part of the dash frame that runs behind the headunit, and screwed it into a slot on the frame...I never had a problem with it moving again.

I also used a small steel piece once when the headunit had no holes, made a hole in it, and screwed it into the frame behind where the head unit would go into the dash, it became a platform for the headunit to rest it's weight on, keeping it from bouncing or shifting.

it cost me a couple bucks and did the job.

If it's too much work...well then you can just keep pushing it back in every time it pops out

no really sometimes you have to use some creativity. Get down there behind your dash, and see what will work to solve your problem.

it is easy to understand what he said. go to a local hardware store and go to the angle brackets, they will have 2-10 inch long half inch wide metal strips with holes in them. then go get some screws and bobs yur uncle!!!!

and by the way i work at a hardware store....lol so i should have thought of this too...

You're probably talking about the L brackets huh? Hmm, I tried to zip tie it befor, that didn't work too well haha, no where to zip tied it, I tried zip tieing it on the heatsink and it didn't work good cause i couldn't get it in there much cause lack of space. I thought it with the trim it would just pop in place, i guess not..

no zip ties won't work, but one of the ways I described above will work...I've done it before...
but let's see what everyone else has cause short of a step by step video, I don't know how else to explain it ...

another thing you might want to try is wrapping the headunit itself with some duct tape or somekind of double sided tape to make it fit snug into your dash.

have you read your sig...

"CEO of Team Cace
Cheap *** Car Ethusiast"

anyway, no one sees the duct tape, it's just giving it a more snug fit.

Heh, the sig of that..it's just a joke with friends. They call me that because I always bargain/find cheap/good *** deals so they hate on me. Plus ducktape if you ever want to take it off, it gets all sticky.
