Taking apart aftermarket Tails...
Has anyone taken apart there aftermarket tails?
I want to take the clear lens off so i can paint all the Chrome Stock Black... but theres this putty or glue or whatever the hell is it all thoughout the thing...
If i put it in the oven, will it melt or warp the lens?

you won't if you're careful...
I've read that to seperte the lights you have to set the oven to 300 degrees (but I think this would very depending on the oven you have) and not for more than a few minutes, then pry apart.
If you search the word "oven" you'll find many articles with taking oem lenses apart.

300 degress? isnt that too hot?
Well I guess its ok if you keep a sharp eye on it while in the oven...
I think pre-heating it to about 200-250 degress then leaving it for five minutes in there should do it

yeah maybe....but that's why i said just a few minutes, but 250 would probably be safer....I dunno if 200 would do it though, then again...
the worst that can happen if it's not hot enough, you have to make it hotter, while if it's too hot, you'll have some weirdly shaped tail lights

if i remeber right put the lense in the oven, then turn it on to 200-300(cant remeber the temp) as the oven warms up it slowey warms the glue, not such a big shock to the glue as when you put it straight in a 200-300 pre heated oven.
