I received my greddy turbo for my 93 civic w/ the blue box yesterday and i did'nt receive any carb sticker so i called greddy and they told me that this kit was carb pending because they changed the fmu and there not giving out anything stating that this is legal. Did anyone else encounter this problem? I thought they advertise this kit as being 50 state legal. Damm this sucks. What if the cops pull me over now. I wanted to get the drag kit but i got this one b/c of the 50 state legal status.

I'm CARB legal, yet I cant pass my damn smog test... I figure I shoulda gotten a damn DRAG turbo instead like i wanted!

 

yup shouldve gone with a DRAG kit. money wasted on a Greddy kit. this is for the homies who have made that mistake.

 

u think the cops really care in ny that much? just dont be stupid and go to places u shouldnt be and ull be fine

 

yeah i bought the greddy because of carb legality
i tried calling greddy but they wont send the papers to me
but anyway, now that i think of it i should of went with a bigger turbo
it was pretty cheap since i bought it used anyway, so im not too bummed
oh well

Er, before I had the hookup I went somewhere here in Grapevine, pre-turbo to get inspection, and they wouldn't pass me because of my cone air filter. Psh..

 

I just passed a california DMV inspection on my civic with my custom turbo kit so i could get california registration. (used to live in colorado moved back to san diego) I didnt have a problem (the lady didnt even notice the huge garret air dryer on the front..or the intercooler for that matter). Although to pass SMOG i had to remove the turbo..what a pain in the *** that was. Although after i got done with smog i went home and put the turbo right back on. smog sucks!

Yep, used to live in Cali. At least you only have to deal with it every two years there!
