14's realistic?
i usually hate these questions.. but whatever.
my local track opens in the beginning of march. my car is a 94 vtec with CAI. i know some people can run high 14's in their car stock. anyone think it is feasible for me to pull a high 14 with my car? im not sure if the people pulling high 14s stock are god drivers.. and the average joe is gonna run a 15.

heh yeah ive been preparing the car for the spring season. last weekend we did a vavle adjustment, replaced distrib cap/rotor, spark plugs, wires. still waiting to do the engine and trans oil change sometime this week.
i think my car is up to it too.. if i can get a good launch from > 4000rpm i think i can pull it off.

I would say you can get 14.89 or so, that would be at least.
Remove all the weight you can, seats, spare, stereo, etc.
Lower tire pressure to 20 psi - just for the race.
Keep your engine as cold as possible.
Replace plugs - NGK of course.
Lauch and around 4,000 rpms like you said.
Shift as fast as you can.
Pay attention to the road, nothing else.
Keep it as straight as possible.
Warm up tire is optional, some people think it helps for street tires, some don't, I think it can't hurt...
Any thing else I left out?
Oh yeah, remove air filter from cai. Of course replace when done, if the condition seems dusty, such as AZ (Don't know what track you're going to) then just clean filter thoughly without K&N oil until done with 1/4 mile.

Cliff Notes: Do it fast, do it Furious.
yyyyyyyyyeah... I wouldn't take out the filter. And skip the burnout box, simpley light up the tires for a quick *braaaaaaaaap* or two, enough to clean off the dust, sand etc.
