As some of you have guessed through my subtle hinting I am relocating from The Sunny North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii to Charlotte, North Carolina. Relocating means I have to do one thing to get there: Road Trip.

This summer, around the 1st of August, I'll be packing up the newly rebuilt R and heading out into the great unknown (again). My plans which I have been working out on paper are to make a documentary of my voyage across America along with the people I meet, the experiences I have and the things I see along the way.

Footage will be shot with a 6 megapixel still camera, a Canon XL2 3-CCD video camera, and a 1-CCD camera (to be determined). I will edit with FCP4. Running length should be around 60 to 75 minutes with a complete soundtrack and bonus material.

My general plans are: SEE PAGE 3. Driving I-90 East all the way through Chicago, Illinois then South to West Virginia.

My plans are to meet up with fellow Type R owners and take pictures, shoot video and ask questions which will then be edited into this documetary.

The idea is to document a common interest that random strangers across thousands of miles, share with one-another. This video isn't going to be about racing. Just common interests and life in general.

I feel this is a great opportunity to meet some of you and to get my work out there for future projects.

dont do it....i live in Wilmington NC now....yes a killer place to live however i moved from Oahu ...and thats an even more killer place to live.....when you get here (or well near here....i will try to hook up with you (yes I have an R) for the video.....killer idea i plan on making the same trip to see a freind in California (who just drove his R there a few weeks ago)...........and im sure i will film the whole way as well.....sorry to hear your moving here ....only cause your leaving HI

 

When you come through KC we will meet up we'll have about 5-6 caRs for you to meet....drivers too.

Is your car in Seattle? Driveable? Running? Have I missed anything, or do you just think it will be done by then?

i assume you will be on 80-90 correct? once you get everything planned out, let me know (or ill just keep reffering to the thread), i live right off of it. plus im the only R up here in northern indiana besides a dude that just bought one by me but is moving to tenn. Plus Michigan R's can come down too if they are not too far up north or willing to make the drive

 

I would be willing to join you in WV and continue on with ya.
