Default 1988 Accord can it be swaped?

hey sad to say i own a 1988 auto Carberated Honda accord, I would like to swap the tranny for a 5-speed and the motor for a B18C5, I was just wondering have you guys ever heard of a swap like this in a car like mine? If so how do I go about starting a swap like this? Should I just have a shop do it? Where do I get motor mounts? What kinda 1/4 mile times can I expect with a good driver?

If it is not something I could do, is there any honda/ acura motor I could swap into mine, and gain some power, or would I be better off switching it over to Fuel inj and going form there?

Thanks for the help guys Later

This thread at 3geez.com should answer most of your questions:

The problem, however, is that you would need to convert your car from carb'd to fuel injected. Here's a how-to:
http://www.geocities.com/carot...n.htm

Obviously, many of the parts listed for the EFI conversion won't be necessary, as you will be using the ones from the b-series motor. Examples: distributor, ecu, intake & exhaust manifolds, etc.

and don't expect to ever find mounts. PRI stopped making them. nobody else ever has for these cars.

i agree that another problem lies in the fuel induction your car is equipped with. you have to swap to EFI. i'm in the middle of the EFI swap myself. it's not exactly easy as so much has to be changed, even witholding the engine changes. look over on http://www.3geez.com and search around. so many questions have already been answered for you. give them a shot.

well, in 1990, they completely changed the layout of the motor mounts in accords. you can still swap with a 2nd gen lude, but it's the same motor.

and i don't honestly think i'll do any more with the swap until it cools down. it's 100 friggin degrees outside all the time here.
