Default d16y7 in 92 civic hatch

hey everyone, my brother is loking to swap a 98 civic dx motor into his eg hatch. Ive been wondering a bit about it since its an obd2 motor and can i just use the stock engine harness off his current motor, put that on the newer motor and still run his PO6 ecu? or will i need an obd2-obd1 conversion harness? Anyone thats done this swap please help, thanks in advance.

or u can make your life a hell of a lot easier and just get an engine wire harness off of a y7 and scrap everything under your hood.

Swap y7 motor with the ecu and harness. THE easiest thing to do imo.

Just swap all the sensors off the OBD1 engine and put it on the OBD2 engine. That is by far the easiest. You can run the P06 ecu. But the only thing is the timing is alittle different, but it will run ok.

that viet_tec dude in his sig is a troll he's made a couple posts like that.

crasian: if I had a working obd1 manifold at my disposal, and I could get a gasket cheaper than an obd2 harness [dunno what harnesses go for where you're at], I would just swap the IM and use your stock harness. the stock d16y7 intake manifold sucks and it would be better in the longrun to have swapped it, plus it'd be the cheaper way to get the car running IMO.
