I've tried multiple search strings - but i've got nothing..
Anyway, in the 4th Gen Ludes, there is a little black box to the left of the ECU. What the H*ll is that? I was going to unplug it to see what it is, but I decided not to. I would have PMed someone - but i can't haha

It controls the cooling fan on the radiator.

I know this for SURE because I read somewhere it was for daytime running lights, so I took it out and the f'ing car overheated.

I didn't think I had running lights, dude. R-E-A-D.

I read somewhere that that box was to control DRLs for Canadian models, and I knew I didn't have DRLs so I took it out.

I was under the impression you are a ricer, and believed the DRLs are useless. And in order to eliminate them, you removed the box. But now that you removed the box for what? Weight savings? A 3 gram box for weight? You've got to be kidding me.

If it isnt broke, dont fix it.

And if you are interested in removing 3 gram boxes with no function in your car, there are numerous ones scattered throughout. Have fun

i was gonna remove it just to have less **** in the car, its a lot easier to fix a car when theres a whole **** load of electonics and usless **** in the way....thats just my opinion tho....and why does he suck???

I was a noob when I did it, I just wanted the guy who asked the question to not do the same dumbass thing. Just trying to help and then somebody starts flaming.

I really didn't overheat the car, it just got to 3 bars for 1/2 a second before I turned it off. Oh well...

 

well if you never touched it, you would never know what it was for, one day if your fan doesnt work, you know where to look for a possible problem
