I know these are fairly rare, but I have a 1997 GS-R and I'm looking to upgrade both front and rear bumpers to the 98-01... (type R also accepted, rare I know). Anyone have any, or know of anyone that would??? I don't want anything that needs body work, just a repaint, considering I have to paint it to my color anyway... Thanks guys.

 

Look in the H-T Marketplace for the body parts that you want.
And also, the ITR came with the same front and rear bumpers. The only difference was that the front came with the lip.

 

I know, but for some highschool kid that I eventually sell it to, type R parts sound better if they have any bit of knowledge about the ITR... thanks though

So just buy a ITR lip for your bumper you have now. Also, 98+ conversions arent that rare.

not too rare indeed. they are a lot cleaner. Just get the R lip, i had an 01 R rear bumper!!!

 

Actually they are hard to find, I've been searching for 2 months now, one guy on ebay basically sold it to me, then never wrote back after I asked how he wanted to be payed... if you can find one quicker than it's taking me, I'd be more than impressed. If I put a type R lip on the front bumper, it still doesn't look the same, the 98-01 are pointed just a bit more than the 94-97. Plus, I lowered almost 2 inches and don't feel like scraping everywhere. I'd like to post this in the comsmetics section, but this trial version won't allow me to, any suggestions? Thanks.

What exactly are you asking for? Obviously the 94-97 lips look different than 98+. And if you are scared of scraping either raise up your car a bit, or forget the lip.

 

I'm not asking anything, I was mentioning that the 97 front bumper is shaped differently than the 98, even with a lip... I want the 98. I dont want a lip. And I'm not impressed, I was talking about the rear bumper, I've found many front bumpers. Those weren't even in great shape except the one that would cost $150 for shipping to NY (rediculous). 2 of them were WTB's. Look, I don't know where the attitude is coming from, sorry if I didn't sound appreciative but I do thank you for your help. Does anyone know if the headlights from my 97 will fit with the 98 front bumper upgrade? Or do I need to replace those as well.... Thanks.

 

a 97 r lip looks just as good as a 98 r lip. i kno someone that has one on his 96 ls. i think its cooler to have the 97 bumper and lip cuz everyone else switches to 98 spec bumpers....

Yes. you do need to get the 98+ headlights they're angled just a bit more

You asked for front and rear in your original post, not just rear. and those are all Forsale ads, no WTB's in there. You are too picky with wanting to buy used **** that you say is so hard to find, and $150 is pretty decent shipped for a 98+ bumper, fyi. Theres one for $200 still in the plastic! Forget it, just search next time.
