Can't decide, 10 more hp and YS1 or LSD
Long story short.
Getting a B16 for the 88 CRX.
I can spend:
$200 more for the OBD 1 Xsi version w/10 more hp and a YS1 tranny,
$300 more for an LSD,
or
$500 more both.
Any opinions?
I should also not that I already have the harnesses to convert to OBD-1.

I would think that an LSD is going to make more of a difference then an extra 10 horses, both now and later on down the line when you start modding it. If your engine with the LSD option is not OBD1 you can easily convert it to OBD 1. Finding an LSD tranny is a little bit harder.

this should be an easy decision. LSD. you can pick of 10hp anywhere. headers, intake, bigger exhaust. etc. You'll pay out the *** for a conversion or a real LSD tranny.

Damn. guess a whole lot of people have an eye out for an LSD tranny!
But isn't the YS-1 a better transmission compared to the Y1 or the S1 that comes with the OBD 0 B16? That's like the main reason I've got this question on my mind. I'm actually not at all concerned with it being OBD-0 or -1. I already have the harness to convert if I decide to go that route. I just wanted to post the info in case the question crossed your minds.

I would do option 2....
The 92-93 jdm Integra had the very good YS1 tranny, and the newer B16a does make more power, its smoother, has a great ecu that can easily be reprogramed if needed, has a bigger TB, better intake manifold, higher comp pistons, better cams....

Based on your signature, did you do this sawp w/ the LSD option?

No such thing.
Closest to it is the Y1, of which some had the option of the lsd, but were also well know for worn syncro's. Parts of which are not easy to come to to rebuild. But why would you want to buy a tranny you'd have to rebuild anyway?

I know that OBD-0 B16s came with Y1 trannies and some with LSD. I'm just saying that I wouldn't mine buying one w/a LSD YS1 tranny. That make my decision a no-brainer.

I'd take the newer motor. 10HP is a wonderful thing, as are the superior electronics. Also, although the YS1 in question may lack the LSD, it's gearing is FAR better than the Y1. So unless drag racing is your life, the newer motor is the way to go.
