Default Making paint shiny....more clear coat or more coats of paint?

This is actually a question for my buddy. He's about to get a paint job and was wondering what would give his paint more shine....more coats of clearcoat or more coats of paint? Thanks.

yeah as long as its not a maaco job or something... the shop by my house does like 8 clearcoats! They paint all the Rod Millen Pikes Peak cars and trucks.

The trick is to keep it shiny; polish, & wax. Of course not for two months after the paint is applied. And yeah, clear coats creates the nice looking shine, however the more doesn't really mean it's going to be more blingin'. Three coats is a good amount.
